SUBJECT: Degrees of Separation in the Valerie Plame Affair

At the risk of getting Kevin Baconesque, I ask you to consider the following:

Geo. W. Bush surprised many by hiring outside counsel James E. Sharp to represent him in the Valerie Plame Affair.

James E. Sharp has kept a low public profile in D.C. but represented Gen. Richard V. Secord in the Iran-Contra Affair.

Richard Secord worked with Elliott Abrams in the Iran-Contra Affair.

Elliott Abrams, now with the NSC, is — with Karl Rove and Dick Cheney’s Chief of Staff, “Scooter” Libby — one of the three fingered by Joseph Wilson as most likely to have outed his wife [CIA Agent Valerie Plame] to Robert Novak, who is reportedly a drinking buddy of ... Elliott Abrams.

Small world.

Doug
