SUBJECT: Video I Shot at the Recent Town Hall Meeting

Last Tuesday, a local congressman, Rep. Adam Schiff (for whom I had put up countless yard signs during his first congressional campaign), held a town hall meeting on health care reform, in the Alhambra Civic Center, just up the road. So getting the OK from the congressman’s press rep (It helped to have produced that talk show for Barry, whom he knew) and from Rob Kall, the executive editor of OpEdNews, I used my “press credentials” to set up our video camera on the press stand, right next to Fox News and a lot of the other local to national media, and videotape the event.

And what an event! Although the opponents of health care reform were very loud and well organized, so were the supporters! The meeting was far too rowdy, particularly with the incessant interruptions of the opponents; but at least it came off as scheduled and ran to its conclusion, unlike those others we’ve seen on TV. And Rep. Schiff, the moderator Dr. Bruce Hensel (the medical expert on NBC4), and a panel of health care experts debunked a lot of the myths that are being so widely circulated.

Here are the links and summaries of the video clips I edited and posted on YouTube, on the panel information and audience questions ...

... and here is my article in OpEdNews, linking to all that ...

Please feel free to circulate both. Grassroots democracy has come under attack, by those trying to shout us down. But as long as we keep getting information about real health care problems and solutions out to as many people as possible, then I have faith in the American people to make the right decisions.
