artWORKS:
“Our First Student Exhibition!”
March 31st, 5 – 7 p.m.
artWORKS invites everyone — youth, parents, educators, and the community — to see who they are and what they do. artWORKS is a new organization designed to facilitate the development of artistic expression for youth in Pasadena. It offers workshops in a variety of arts, provides space for performances and exhibits, develops school- and workplace-transferable skill sets, and connects youth to a multitude of community resources in the arts.
A collaborative of artists and educators from Learning Works Charter School, Armory Center for the Arts, Project Connect, and Flintridge Center, artWORKS is a safe and healthy art environment where all youth 13 – 21 years of age can grow and thrive. The facility houses Learning Works Charter School students during the day and secondary youth from the cities of Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre during the afternoon.
The student exhibition will include visual and performing arts work from the first trimester of artWORKS, including graphic design, silk screening, aerosol, multi-media, recording studio, and video storytelling.
artWorks, 2914 E. Walnut St., Pasadena, CA 91107. For more information please call Qua’maine Jones, artWORKS Coordinator, at (626) 823-7024.
